Does "best friend' mean "just friends"?

Dear Cupid, if a guy you like calls you his "best friend" does that mean you have no chance of being with him or could there still be hope. Thanks so much =)

person12345 agony auntDoesn't mean there's no chance, just that for now he considers you a really good friend. Some of the best relationships start out as great friendships. Keep an eye out for things that put you above best friend to best girl, like just seeming really smiley around you, touching you a lot (this includes friendly shoving and such), and just doing generally nice things for you a lot. You know, the usual.
