 Most women prefer boxers for viewing. Having said that I don't care what the fashionistas say I wear what I like.
On to specifics. I'm balding. I refuse to follow the fashion of the day and shave my head. It's enough work to shave my face. If you think I look like Benjamin Franklin I'll take it as a compliment. He also ignored the fashionistas of his day and refused to wear a powdered wig.
Next, (and more on topic), I swim. When I swim, I'm concerned about exercise and efficiency, so I wear jammers and not board shorts. Jammers are like compression shorts tight lycra to the knees. Board shorts are like baggy boxers past the knee. (inserting my sincere apology to any of you who may have tried to imagine a short balding guy in a pair of jammers) I'm simply not a powerful enough swimmer to drag a sail around in the water with me. I have noticed that the above mentioned fashionistas wear streamlined tight swimwear. In my defense I did do a bulge check,and the suits I wear do not show a noticeable or anatomically correct bulge. apparently that extra layer of lycra holds everything down.
As to OP's question. If you feel sexy, you will be confident and confident is sexy. Just don't expect you r new girl to find them as sexy as you do.

I think of them as SPANX for guys and that's fine.
