Do I ask the younger girl from college out?

A male United Kingdom age 41-50, anonymous writes:

Ok I am a single guy of 32. I decided to go back to college to change career. Since I started,a girl in my class hae grabbed my attention. She hangs out in our group and is very sweet, great sense of humour and very beautiful. I would absolutely love to ask her out. I can't stop thinking about her,I dream about her and dream about being her guy. Problem is,she is only 19 years old. Do I ask her out at the risk of her and our mutual friends thinking I'm a creepy old guy? If she said yes I'd be delighted and I'd treat her brilliantly. However if it were a no,I'd feel really silly around her and all our college friends. I can't focus on anything but her. What should I do?

So_Very_Confused agony auntMy husband is 14 yrs younger than I am.

The thing is he was 37 when I met him.

IF you ask her out, she may make a face and find you a dirty old man or she may like older men and go out with you..

what you may find is that at 19 she's still emotionally quite the child and no where near ready to have a truly adult relationship.

I suggest a coffee date off campus in the daylight just the two of you to feel her out and see where she stands... she may put you in your place or maybe you are attracted to her because she's attracted to you and you are picking up on that.

stranger things have happened. and once someone is over 18 it's not illegal.... the worst thing she can say is NO

Ummm... I would vote not asking her out, I think it's worth remembering you're in totally different stages of life right now. She's young and should be free to experience what life has to offer and you're the age of settling down
