I am afraid i have to agree with martini...if i don't trim it especially while i on my periods they get stuck and they are horribly painful.
To the anon below I don't understand where porn comes here though....girls in porn are not from another planet u know. They are just one of us. Sorry to say this mate but God gave us hair everywhere else as well do we not trim or shave there. Do u not get a lovely haircut every so often to beautiful.

I would have to say no... There was one time I nearly ran away in horror when i saw a huge forest, overgrown, and too wild to find my way through to the supposed cave of wonders. A lot of native-born Asians (meaning born in China, Japan, Phillipines, etc) don't shave - not even trim!
At least trim it! If not for the sex, at least for your periods!

Its really sad that so many women have become so unaccepting of their bodies and THE WAY IT IS NATURALLY MEANT TO BE because of porn. Prior to the big increase in porn with home movies the only time a woman shaved was by the drs to give birth. It was considered very unattractive but since the explosion of home movies and now internet..its almost expected by some that women will shave there.
Its itchy,and regardless of what some think it is actually NOT cleaner. As a health professional I cam tell you we have body hair to collect sweat and DECREASE odors. If a woman is convinced her shaved pubic region is cleaner she is misguided.
Having said that...each to their own...if you like it for whatever reason go ahead but if your doing it because you think its necessary or expected I would encourage you not to...afer all if it wernt for our pornifies culture very few people would be doing it at all

 I shave there, and love it. It makes me feel clean and it looks good. My boyfriends also loves it. Nothing sexy about getting pubic hairs in your mouth...and you have to stop to fish them out(time consuming, also) I myself love a guy who shaves his pubic area.....There is nothing in the way for me!!!!

I prefer it shaven, its just something I've always done, I find it cleaner etc plus my guy loves it! But I didn't do it for him though!

reader, anonymous, writes (8 October 2006): as far as i know most women do shave their pubic areas. im a nurse and i have seen many shaved areas. men do it too. u dont want to ur man to see u all bushy. its also unhygenic to keep it so scruffy looking, harder to clean and can get smelly. u just need to remember that a little bit of hair needs to be left behind for protection of ur vagina and all its surroundings. and if ur going to shave, be carful. use shaving cream, clippers or have it waxed by a proffessional. k

Some women dont shave but personally i do i think it looks better and is better for hygiene reasons. Some women leave a bit of hair 'landing strip' which is fine if thats what they prefer. I personally like the brazillian look.
