Cool holiday destination for both gay and straight couples? Any ideas?

Hey looking for some advice though not on love. Though it is a LGBT question.

I'm a lesbian in a serious relationship. My partner and I are best friends with a straight couple who we are chatting about going on holiday with next year. We all fancy a Greek island but need somewhere LGBT friendly for my gf and I, but also suitable for our straight couple friends. My partner and I are openly gay and although don't go around rubbing it in peoples faces, are open and don't feel the need to hide it. We hold hands, put arms around eachother, everything any other two people in a relationship would do. I don't think I could have a relaxing holiday when I constantly felt that I couldn't be that way with my girlfriend. it's part of who we are as a couple and we like being close physically.

Can anyone think of any cool holiday destinations? We don't want anywhere too "clubby" as aren't really into all that, but somewhere with some cool bars, a more mature crowd, some nice beaches and maybe some waterspouts? A bit of history is cool too! Main TNT though, somewhere where we can be ourselves and our straight couple friends will feel comfortable.

CindyCares agony aunt Any Greek island more or less fits your bill, with the possible exception of Mykonos or Santorini, which are so enthusiastically gay friendly ,that your straight friends would feel like an endangered species! Rhodos is nice,or even better Crete , if you like a bit of history you can follow the traces of Minoan ( Minoic ? ) civilization, go to the archeological museum of Heraklion and you'll feel blown away even if you are not a museum -goer normally.

Otherwise , I'd say Ibiza or Formentera and no, don't turn your nose up immediately, the beauty of these places it's that they are so "transversal " , there's everything for everybody, gay and straight, young and old. Ibiza has a ( well deserved ) reputation for night life, clubs, drugs and general mayhem, but if you stay out of the most beaten paths and choose one of the quieter villages ( San Carlos or Sant'Eulalia, for instance, but there are more ... ) you get fantastic beaches and nature, quaint little restaurants, cozy bars and when you feel more " social " and in the mood for "the scene " , or doing some sightseeing, you can rent a scooter ( everybody does ) and go down to Ibiza town.

I'd say come here but the weather is shite, Ireland is a very accepting country.

OP you can pretty much go anywhere in Europe really, if you're looking for some specific LGBT places where there will be lots of other same sex couples than Greece is the only one that comes to mind, Holland is a great one too.

Anywhere in Western Europe, stay away from the East though.

Germany is also really nice and Spain is the usual place.

I wouldn't take this site too seriously but the list of places it has are ones you can research a bit and check out.

OP in my experience most of Western Europe is very tolerant and easy going about same sex couples. Why not just pick a place without factoring that in too much? Everywhere has a local LGBT scene so just do a bit of homework on the scene of any place you decide to go.
