 Medically speaking your virginity is the hymen inside the vagina - it is like a string of skin. Some girls lose this well before any sexual activity - horse riding, sports etc. Breaking the hymen causes pain to some women during first sexual intercourse, but your pre-sex experimentation may have caused the hymen to break (since you did say that hurt). I wouldn't worry about it so much as losing your virginity is a psychological matter as much as a physical issue. It is not merely about breaking the hymen, but about getting that intimate with someone for the first time and you had your 'first time' with this guy whether you broke the hymen then or not. Enjoy having fun now, and remember contraception!

No you can not lose your virginity by being fingered, but what may have happened is that by fingering you he broke part of your hymen and then made it easier for your first time. It could have also been that you were very arroused before you had intercourse and that can also make it not hurt.
