A female United Kingdom age 30-35, anonymous writes:

Thinking of being with woman in a relationship feels wrong. Thinking of actually doing anything with woman feels wrong! But when i masterbate i think of woman. I dont want to be a lesbian or bisexual, but does this mean i am ?? I'd never actually do anything with a girl. Its discusting, and i feel dirty/ guilty for even thinking this way, i hate it.

A female reader, BettyBoup United Kingdom +, writes (1 March 2010):

BettyBoup agony auntThis fantasy does not actually mean that you are a lesbian, and you don't have to feel dirty or wrong for thinking it.

It could be that the girl in your fantasy is yourself, in the thrid person. As if you are imagining what you would like to happen to you. I have watched porn with women in it and imagined that it was happening to me. I am not a lesbian.

A fantasy is just that, something naughty that gets you excited, you dont always want that fantasy to become real. People can have many different bizzare fantasies. For example its common for women to fantasize about being raped. This has nothing to do with them actually really wanting to be raped, it is more to do with being desired and about the responsibility for the sexual encounter to not be theirs. This takes away the guilt some women associate with wanting sex.

What I mean is, fantasies are rarely what they seem. They can reflect something deep within our subconscious. They are symbolic, not literal. So I'd imagine this does not mean you are a lesbian at all, if you do not actually desire women in reality.

Hope this makes sense :)

A male reader, anonymous, writes (28 February 2010):

We all have our fantasies.

If you are uncomfortable about putting them into practice, then leave them as fantasies. Enjoy them as such.

Your hormones are still surging through your body like its their last day on Earth and as such your brain is forcing you to think of sexual things all over the place in an effort to get you to mate with something, ANYTHING.

Even if it turns you are gay, whats the issue there? Plenty of people are and these days, a person cannot be judged on their sexual preferences.
