A female United Kingdom age 36-40, anonymous writes:

Hi guys, Ive been with my boyfriend for 9 months, things have gone at a pretty slow pace which is ok with me as I came out a 4 yr relationship and got with him 3 months later.

We have not been without our issues, not major ones but small niggly things which kind of irritate me. One of these things is communication.... I have fallen into this cycle of texting/ calling him first and if im not the one to make contact first hes not exactly fast to contact me. Once I backed off on him and he did improve.

How can I improve the communication between us without making it into a massive drama? We have had a few niggling issues but generally things are starting to improve between us but this is one of the final things which needs improving.

Thanks x
