reader, anonymous, writes (28 March 2009): Honestly I don't know what the laws are in your particular country, but in some muslim countries you can face serious criminal charges for participating in homosexual behavior. I don't agree with this, but you should definitely be aware of what the laws are in your particular country just in case your proposal doesn't go well.
I'd try to get a read on whether you think this guy is gay or not, if he's straight there's a chance he won't react well to your proposal. If he's gay, great. Ask away. But start by saying something along the lines of "I think you're really attractive and we should go on a date."
Then if the date goes well you can go on more, or if it goes really well you can end up at one of your houses. But hold off on the marriage talk awhile, that'll scare most folks away pretty quickly.
