A female reader, xxxsoulsistaxxx United Kingdom +, writes (13 January 2007):

xxxsoulsistaxxx agony auntI think you need to get this guy out of your head, not track him down and make things worse for yourself. In my experience, everyone has someone in their life who they feel they let slip away or they missed out on something, everyone has that person. But most of us just move on and meet someone else. That person is always in our memory but, over time, they are not important.

Once you meet someone new, I think you'll be fine. It is a long time to be obsessed with someone, maybe you need a bit of help getting past this. There are lots of great guys out there and you can find one, but you're not going to do it while you're obsessing over this guy, who's probably spoken for anyway.

I hope this has helped and I hope you can get past this. I have that person in my past, we all do, we just never got the closure we needed. Get out there and move on with your life.

Good luck
