Can we work this out?

A female United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

My boyfriend and I have been together for 8 months. We recently got into a huge fight, because I feel that our relationship has become boring because we never go out or do anything anymore. He often makes plans for us and then breaks them, saying he's too tired from work or school. He said that he's the one that does everything, especially driving and paying for me (even though I've repeatedly said he doesn't have to) and that I don't do enough for him, which is not true. As a result, I've lost much interest in sex (which also may be due to taking birth control- for HIM) and its making him frustrated. Also, I feel like he wants it all the time and he feels that I never want it.

We almost broke up last time when he said that we should just end it but when I was about to walk away, he stopped and hugged me with tears in his eyes, saying that he didn't mean it. I guess we're on a break now but neither of us is talking. I don't want our relationship to end, but I want him to make more of an effort to keep it interesting and tell me that he loves me, which he hasn't even said yet. We haven't spoken for a few days, are we going to break up?
