If you don't mind breaking your own hymen (pretty much losing your virginity to yourself), go for it. It will definitely make first-time sex hurt a lot less. But you don't have to do it "regularly" for it work. If your boyfriend fingers you twice or thrice before the first time you have sex, you should be fine too. Chill out-- losing your virginity hurts a bit but not THAT much.
