Can I move out at 15? I don't have a good relationship with my always ill mother.

Question - (30 July 2010) 1 Answers - (Newest, 31 July 2010)
A female United Kingdom age 26-29, anonymous writes:

Hey, this isn't a relationship question but I don't know where else to turn.

My mum has been ill for over 10 years and from a young age I have looked after her. I left school at 13 and developed depression. My brother's left home and my dads always working. For nearly a year she has been well and healthy. My depression has gone and I'm volunteering. But recently in the past month or so she's begun to get sick again. I feel so selfish and guilty but I don't want to care for her again, (we don't have a good relationship anyway). I'm slipping back into depression and really can't handle clearing up after her when she's ill and get so stressed when she's upset. I don't know what options there are, or if it's possible for me to move out or live with someone else since I'm 15. I cannot bear to live here while she's sick. Is it possible for me to move out? What if my mum doesn't give permission because she wants me to care for her? Please help.

AuntyAlexxmo agony auntThis is not a nice situation honey, to start off if you need some advice or someone to talk to about your depression please send me a message on here as i know the perfect person, up to you =]. About moving out, im not all to sure but i THINK as you are still a minor at 15 you would be able to move out nobody could stop you, but it would have to be either into social services care or into a social service agreed family members house until you are 16. I want to also say the no you are not selfish at all! you are so young and this should not be your responsibility!! please give some feedback and ask anything or message me about the person to talk to, anything honey! i know what it is like to be young and feel lost so i really want to help you in some way =]
