talker definitely had the best advice, but here's my input:Best way to lose weight is a combination of healthy eating habits and exercising. It's too easy to put the weight back on after you've dieted for a bit and seen results - I wouldn't recommend fad diets either, as they are just a fad.Exercise doesn't have to be boring though - try taking dance classes or joining a women's gym with some friends or another activity that raises your heart rate and burns fat, which is key to losing weight.Hope this helps!xo

Ergo you feel full on less food, and then lose weight because your body if not consuming as much. This can really be accomplished by not eating as much anyway, without that little band.Flynn 24

It's important to create healthy habits. First off watch your sugar and processed food intake. I had a friend that stopped drinking soda and lost 5 pounds! Eat lots of fruits and veggies. Exercize can be taking the stairs instead of the elevator, parking at the last parking spot, doing 50 sit ups and push ups each day. Exercise does not have to be painful. Put on your favorite song and go for a walk everyday. Every step counts!

Nope, exercise is the only way, if you just try to diet you may loose some weight but you will put it back on very fast and possibly more.
Just try walking for 20 minutes 3 times a week to start, you will be shocked at how fast it comes off!

My mom used to be a size 20 and she's gotten down to a size 9 without exercising. So, it CAN be done. Let me start by saying a few things:
1. As you know, you really should be happy with your body and your frame. Being a size 16 isn't bad, as long as you can work it. I would understand if you wanted to lose weight because it's healthier for you, but I hope that you're not doing it because you think you're ugly or anything. No matter what your size, I think people should always love themselves and know how to work it without having to conform to any norms.
2. Depending on your height and frame...a size 8 might not be for you. I know what the doctors say and whatever, but like I said my mom is 5' 5" and she has managed to get down to a size 9 and she looks amazing! (Sometimes she still wears a size 12 because it's a little more comfortable). If you're 5' 5" as well, then I would say getting down to a size 9 would be best. If you're taller, then you might need to get down to a bigger size. Smaller, you need to get down to a smaller size. But size isn't really a good goal, I think, either...it's best to set small goals. Like, let me lose 10 lbs. Then see how you look each time you lose weight. Men love a little cushion for the pushin' so don't lose all the curves.
2. Exercise is the best way to keep the pounds off. My mom has been able to just do it by dieting, but I assure you that as soon as she stops eating right...she will gain all the weight back. She has to work hard for it. She told me the other night that if she ate the way I ate...that she would easily be a size 22. Exercise is the best way, seriously. A good plan would be to incorporate a little exercise with a little dieting.
3. It takes a long time. It took my mom 2 years to lose all the weight. So don't expect results immediately. She cut all salts, sugars, or greasy/fried food. When she feels like snacking, she eats veggies and fruits. When she's thirsty, she stays away from soda (No Soda!) and almost always drinks just water. Instead of frying food, she grills them.
You might want to speak to a nutritionist to find the best dieting plan for you. Oh, and the key is that you have to eat small portions often. I know, it sounded crazy to me. But you have to eat every 2-3 hours. Breakfast, snack, Lunch, snack, Small Dinner. Nothing past 7pm.
Oh and the good thing about exercise is that it gives you energy and motivation to keep going. Not only that, but it makes you feel good. Endorphines are your friend. If you're not big on exercise, then you can try bike riding. Or you can get involved in learning how to dance...a friend of mine was learning to dance tango...join a club where you can do something that allows you to move. Plus, it's a great way to meet people. ;) Hope that helps. Be safe.

im sorry but this question just screams laziness

you can but it will be slower and you'll have to eat less. losing weight is a very simple equation - calories consumed vs calories burned. you can find your bmr (basal metabolic rate) by googling and find out how many calories you burn if you stayed in bed all day. then you'ld get a more accurate view of how many you need to consume to lose weight. remember 3500 calories is 1lb. so excerise will speed it up. it is also VERY unlikely taht you would reach a size 8 without exercise and you may be left with loose skin. exercise reduces this risk.
