Question - (29 March 2008) 2 Answers - (Newest, 29 March 2008)
A female Canada age 18-21, anonymous writes:

I know this isn't a relationship question, but I'm hoping I'll get answers.

Over the past few years i've put on quite a few pounds fast, so I got stretch marks etc. but thats not my big concern.

I've decided to go to the gym and get back into shape, but I'm worried about saggy skin afterwards. If you lose weight slower is there less chance of skin being saggy and loose? I'm concerned about that since bikini season is coming up and my boyfriend hasn't seen me in a bikini or anything yet(new relationship, he doesn't care about my weight, its all me! I just want to feel less insecure).

And if i do get loose skin or something, are there non surgical ways to help?

Thanks!

Hi Hunny

Take your diet slow you should loose 2lb a week to be safe and eat healthy dont stop eating all together as this will do your body no good, Bio oil is good for stretch marks and mosturising before you dry yourself after a shower or bath also then once you have mosturised wet and dryed, mosturise again and use the bio oil on the stretch marks hunny, Tone up while you diet and this should work fine...

honeyross agony auntIt depends how overweight you are. You're young, though, and if you're not losing too much, you should be ok.

It's definitely a good idea to lose weight slowly - it will give the skin time to adapt. While you're losing weight eat nutritious food and get enough rest and drink plenty of water etc. so that your skin is in top condition.

Also do gentle exercise to firm and tone your muscles while you're losing weight as this will help the connective tissue to attach itself better.

By using a body lotion and gently rubbing it into your skin you'll be improving the circulation and helping the skin to adapt to your new size.
