Please be very careful with what advice you take from this site, listen to your doctors as they have been trained to do the job.
You may get slightly conflicting advice from different doctors depending on where they trained and how long ago they trained but if they have told you not to wash it then listen to them.
I certainly don't agree with cling film any burns need air to them to some extent to help with the healing process.
Take care.xx.

i have been learning how to tattoo for 6 years now and have had to learn about skin care and skin affflictions ect... the best thing to do is rince, do not touch the wound with unclean hands, use anti bacterial soap to wash your hands before cleaning the wound, and to wash your feet, do not soak the wound as this makes scar tissue build up faster, saline solution which is used for cleaning contact lenses is the best thing for something like this because it is sterile and doesnt sting as much as antiseptics, i would stay away from wearing anything that will interfear with the healing prosess. i would avoid anything that will cling to it, such as bandaids, i would wrap my foot in cling film once i had cleaned it with antiseptic wound wash then rinsed with saline solution twice daily. then gently add e45 to the would to soften the scar tissue before wrapping, in the morning when i wake and just before bed because that is when bacteria spreads the most. lisa x x x x x x x
