A female reader, red1982 United Kingdom +, writes (17 January 2008):

I was the one that had to make the first move on my now husband - he just didn't seem to take the hint. In the end (after a 5 hour date) I just went for it when he went to say goodbye and kept my fingers crossed that he didn't pull away.

So trying to remember in slow motion I think it was something like this.. I put my hand up to his cheek whilst he was standing in front of me talking away and moved my head towards him and kissed him quickly on the (still partially open) mouth. Then I leant back and checked the reaction on his face - pleasant shock if I remeber correctly. Then I moved my head forward again and he responded.

After that first ice breaker kiss we were fine and he started to initiate. He was just as scared as me that I would push him off.

I wish you luck!!
