Am I being played like a fiddle?

Question - (10 February 2009) 1 Answers - (Newest, 10 February 2009)
A male United States age 36-40, anonymous writes:

Okay, so heres the deal. I met this guy last month and then he goes away on business out of state, now we would talk every night or every other night and everything seemed fine. He would tell me he missed me and wanted something serious and he was thinking about me all the time, he even wanted me to go up there and see him. So a couple of weeks ago he tells me hes coming down for V-Day to see me and then recently texts me a few days ago and tells me he cant come down, whats the point of going down there for 2 days is what he told me. Now since then, he hasnt communicated back to me. All my friends tell me not to answer his calls or even bother calling him back but the thing is I really do like him. Am I being played like a fiddle here and being naive about the situation or what?

Well if you like so much maybe give him one more chance, but with your eyes wide open. Answer if he calls but always keep what has happened to the front of your mind. It does sound like he was very hot and then went very cold.

What is the point of going down for two days!? Well to see you of course! He's probably blown it already but if you give him a chance just don't forgot what has gone down.
