About 3-4 inches in theres what i believe to be my cervix, but it's sticking out quite a bit, and i can barely get around it. In the past i never felt it. I've been checking around inside again recently and its still the same, i was thinking it might have been because i was expecting my period around that time a month or so ago, but i'm not expecting it any time soon now.Does anyone know if maybe it isn't my cervix or do some women's cervix just stick out farther. And would it affect having sex?

You can't get around a cervix, heres a letter diagram: Y (the stem of the Y is the vaginal canal, you can go around the edges of your cervix via the "arms" or "forks" of the Y, but you can't get around the cervix. I hope that wasn't too abstract!

some women do stick out a bit further than others. what's concerning is it wasn't there, then it was. i'd go to your doctor and get checked. that "embarrasing" area could be prone to cysts. I looked up this definition for you.
A cyst is a closed sac having a distinct membrane and develosion) on the nearby tissue. They may contain air, fluids, or semi-solid material.
The best thing to do is see a doctor and check if that's what's going on if it's something else. Take care, and no medical question is embarrasing. : )

Strangely enough, a similar topic came up last time I had a pap. If I remember right, the doc told me that the cervix changes position (or something along those lines) during the menstrual cycle, and also when a woman is aroused. Also, the doctor said that for some woman, the cervix isn't exactly centered. It can be higher, lower, further back, to the left, to the right, etc. But your case does sound unusual because you said that it hasn't always stuck out like that, and that it was like that during different times in your cycle. If you're really concerned, you could go to a doctor just to be safe. A yearly pap is a good idea anyway. Oh, yay for paps.
