reader, anonymous, writes (13 July 2010): It means one of three things.. One way is that he feels you're cheap or thrifty with your money. The second way it's used is to refer to you as hot, beautiful, foxy, the full package, mint, fine, like Raiders said, or that you've got it going on, etc.. along those lines, but with one word, tight. The third would be the derogatory term that you don't put out, or are not generous at all, sexually. If you play in a band, he means that you're so comfortable, practiced and used to playing with the band that you perform to near perfection, in sync with the rest of the band. In that sense, it's used in a good way, of course. I'm assuming you don't play in a band, so being 2 out of the 3 remaining possibilities are negative views of you, I would call him out on what he's been saying to his friends, and hope that he meant you're really fine. If not, he means you're either thrifty or cheap, or you don't 'put out' enough, sexually. Ask him straight up when his friends aren't around, because even if he means it in a bad way, there are too many ways he could have meant it, if it's bothering you to know. At least you'll know what he's thinking, as bad as you might feel.

 it depends on the context.............if it was said in a sexual way then yes he was refering to you not having been around too much.
if you are known to be thrifty or you guys went out and you may have not tipped your fair share then he was reffering to your wallet.
did he say it cassually........like.......girl you're pretty tight!........this means you're fine, you're all good in his books:)

 This basically means he thinks you don't like to spend your money or splash out on anything, this isn't always a bad thing, it really depends on the context it was said in.
