reader, anonymous, writes (7 November 2010): How old are you really? 13? Of course you can and if you didn't know that you shouldn't be having sex in the first place. Take some responsibility. Condoms aren't just to stop pregnancy they prevent STDs.

 Firstly, the pullout method can be very effective at birth control. However, it only takes one sperm to get pregnant. The big risks are these: 1) Having sex multiple times per day. Some sperm continue to hang out inside the shaft of your penis. When you lubricate, it mixes with sperm and some do make it inside. These usually die, but again, it only takes one lucky one. 2) When you are excited and about to orgasm. If you stop moving, or try to extend your performance: most of the time you will ejaculate some sperm - even without having an organism. 3) Sperm can live inside the vagina for up to 7-days. If you are waiting until "a few days after her period" to cum inside: some sperm may still be alive when she ovulates on the 14-day (or so) of her cycle. Assuming your girl has regular periods. If you avoid the above, and unprotected sex from the 10th day after her period starts - until the 20th day, you add the calendar method to the pull out method. Many couples get away with this for years and years. However: all birth control methods fail sometimes.
