i am really worried that i may be pregnant. my cycle is quite long, 42 days. i have taken the morning after pill three times before on three different occasions. the last time i took the pill my period came two weeks earlier, 28 days. it has now been 2 months since then and i haven't gotten my period. my boyfriend and i have had sex in the last two weeks, but we did use a condom, though i know this is not 100% effective. i cant go on the pill because i need a parent to sign it off as i am not 18 yet, and my parents have not agreed to do this as they are very traditional and religious. i have had exams two weeks ago and now i am sick with a cold, which might be another cause of my delayed period, right? im also wondering if the morning after pill could have messed up my cycle. i havent been experiencing any pregnancy symptoms, except for some cramping, moodiness and food cravings, which are also just symptoms of PMS. please help.

I am going through the exact same thing. You are not alone on this one. I finished my exams at the end of April. My last period was two and a half months ago. I have had sex with my boyfriend but we always use condoms. I am so paranoid about it too I always make sure it is on properly and afterwards I fill the condom with water to make sure there are no leaks (Gross I know, but it makes me feel better). I am not on Birth Control either, because, like you mentioned as well, my parents are very religious and I can not have them knowing that I'm having sex. Since I have been back from school I have had a major change in my daily schedule, sleep schedule and my diet. I've also been on antibiotics for an ear infection. Not to mention all the anxiety I have been dealing with over my missed period... I recently moved across the country for the rest of the summer because my dad has been sent away on business. I am so scared to take a pregnancy test. I would feel more confident if I had any friends where I am but I know nobody out here. This is something I really don't want to deal with by myself, and I definately can't talk to my Mom or Dad about it. My cycle has never been regular, but this is the longest time between periods I have ever experienced.

This probably sounds hypocritical of me, but you should really take a pregnancy test so that you can stop worrying and get some answers.

And I have also taken the Morning After Pill before. It sais on the package that it shouldn't disrupt your cycle, but it definately disrupted mine. It caused my period to come three weeks late. So the fact that you have taken Plan B could definately be a reason for your delayed cycle.

I know your post is from a while ago, and I hope everything turned out okay for you!

you are bright and what you have written is correct, it could be stress, it could be a few things, including a baby - the very bes thin is to take a test or go see a doctor.

better to be safe than sorry.

Your parents need to know that there is a risk that they will be more likely to be grand parents if you don't.

jessica04 agony auntThe morning after pill can sometimes affect you cycle, but not long term like this.

Yes, it could be just stress from your cold and school exams.

thank you for using a condom. While not 100%, it is still very effective. Good for you :)

Take an at home pregnancy test. If you still are worried, or if it comes out positive, then go see your OBGYN, or gyno. They can do more comprehensive testing and examinations to see if you are pregnant or not.

Also, you should sit down with your mom and talk to her about how irregular your cycle is. It is not fun to never know when you might get your period, and hopefully she can understand your feelings on the subject. Ask her to think of how embarrassing it would be for you if you got your period and leaked through your clothes because you had no clue to expect it that day.

Also, while I understand your parents may be religious, they need to understand that the truth of the matter is that you are sexually active. If you are not pregnant, then religion or not, they should have a great interest in getting you on birth control so that there are no more pregnancy scares in the future.
