writes: I am 13 and have never had a boyfriend! I read most of the questions on here and sometimes I get so upset and sad because I see others people my age talking about their relationship and how they love them and ect. At school pretty much everyone has a boyfriend/girlfriend. I have posted other questions on this site about how I have problems talking to people. But im still scared that I wont get a boyfriend. What can I do? I feel so sad about it sometimes. All answers are greatly appreciated. Thank you.

reader, anonymous, writes (31 July 2010): I wouldn't worry about it. I am 15 and I have only had one boyfirend! I ended are relationship quickly because I decided that I just wanted to be friends. My advice: Don't be ashamed to be single. THe right guy will come around. But when he does, make sure you tell him how you feel!

 Me too! More time to play the guitar... I'd practice now but my fingers are bleeding from playing the guitar too much and my dog is trying to sleep... being single is awesome :)

You're only 13! You say that your friends all have boyfriends or girlfriends. The "relationships" in middle school are almost always ephemeral; they last a week or so. They're not the same thing as the serious relationships people have later.
Maybe you're bored! There are a lot of things that are more interesting than who's dating whom; kids need fun and you need something to fill that void.
When I was 13 I was obsessed with the guitar. I still am. But, I had my passion and it was my whole world... still is. I would explore some interests and find some fun things to do to make life exciting, like music or drama or sports.

 At 13 you shouldn't be having a boyfriend. Algebra should be your biggest concern. And Trigonometry, if they're still teaching that.

 Be proud that you are independent. And that you aren't going to have to go through "break ups" especially with guys your age, very unlikely the guy even cares as much bout you as you do them. I Had my first boyfriend when I was 16, one of the reasons he liked me was cause I hadn't been with everyone else. We have now been dating for 8 months. He was my first kiss and some other be stuff ..... If there is any advise I advise .... wait, cause it's going to be worth it.

 Try not to concentarte on it too much I realise it can be difficult to deal with but a boyfriend is not the be all and end all in life. Personally, I never had a boyfriend the whole time I was at school I didn't have a relationship until I was 17. Relax and don't fret and honey guys are more trouble than they are worth anyway so while you are without one enjoy it.
