If I don't have direct experience then I try to find pertinent information so that I can be as accurate as possible if I chose to answer at all. If I cannot do either of these then I will not normally answer.
If the question is of a medical nature, where there is valid information available, then I will use that valid information to answer and not guess at an answer. At the ages of 60 plus, my wife and I have researched several medical problems and have significant information on them. If someone gives incorrect information that I can accurately dispute and show links to support my knowledge, then I will dispute that inaccurate information, as incorrect medical information is dangerous, or at least not helpful.
I do not hold any hatred for all people in a group because one person might have done something to me. For instance, I do not hate all cheaters, as everyone can change if they want to. People who do that and can't recognize that everyone is different and can change bad behavior are not able to give objective answers that are useful.
I believe that past behavior is an indicator of future behavior and is important, but if that person has taken the difficult route of changing their behavior then that person is as worthy as the person who did not engage in that past behavior. However, things like murder and child abuse are not in that category in my mind.
I have been once married and divorced and have been married to a great wife for 23 years now. We have been together for over 30 years. We waited a long time to decide on marriage so that we would both get it right the second time. That was not a mistake. We don't believe that people can really know each other in a few months or even a year. We have had problems and arguments, but we have always worked hard to solve them. I don't think that telling someone to leave a partner at the first sign of trouble is helpful at all. Too many people just want to take the easy way out and not work at a solution. Relationships take hard work. It is time that people realize that. People who have repeatedly failed at relationships should perhaps look at what they are doing wrong instead of trying to blame various partners.
We still have a good sex life and are probably more adventurous than most would expect for a couple of 60 plus year olds. I got it all wrong with my first wife, but decided to change with the first woman who I dated after we split. My wife thinks that I got it right this time. If I give advice on sex then it is what works for us or what I have read works for most people. It might not be right for everyone. One size does not fit all, whether it be sex or life in general. |
