you will find that lots of women tell you they are what you want, but a little down the line when they have tightened the net and they can call you there own then they show there true colours, but I am sure that with patience and maybe with a little help from this site you will find the ideal lady, were do you live?

Just been made redundant after working for a big housing association for 20 years, used to manage hostels and schemes for offenders and homeless, also managed a scheme for mental health and learning dissability. Now I have another fantastic job and im in week 3, I manage a court (housing scheme) for older people. It is the same kind of work only different client group. What do you do?

Worked for Stonham for 20 years, and thanks Dazerg for your kind comments, was that a hug and if so I do feel all warm and fuzzy now. lol!! It was hard being made redundant as it was a job I did well, one I loved and one I lost through no fault of my own. I went through a really depressing time and it was only finding dear cupid that kept me sane, as I had to work out notice period of nearly 6 months and as other managers and friends with less service were leaving I was still there, slogging on keeping my services running with very low staff moral. I made some very good friends and one in particular in the years I worked for the company, she knows who she is and she is very special to me, she saved my sanity and gave me unconditional support when I needed it most. I now have a fantastic job and was lucky enough to find that job before my one with Stonham ended.

what about going back to college, as you are living at home this may be a plan, if you could maybe get a part time job in a bar or supermarket etc then do college in the day, I know it would be hard but it would mean that you opened up your options, what is your trade so to speak? Or try working for a holiday company abroad as a rep, that way you would have fun and meet loads of people, I know the pay is not much but you do get accommodation and it is different.

I dont have a trade, I have minimal qualifications. I do write though. Well I am told. Dont want to go back to college, have never been one for formal education, my kind of crazy-ass scattish mind is far too all over the place. Would like to work in a bar but there really isnt alot about right now.

Have you ever thought about working in hostels, night shelters and homeless people hostels oftern are looking for good relief staff, It pays well and it is away in to working with offenders, or people who need support, I started as a cleaner in a hostel 22 years ago then ended up managing it! I left school with no qualifications just an interest in people and a family background that had challenged me and given me an insight into the darker side of life and humankind and wish to help people to turn there lives around what ever the circumstances. From the answers you give to people I think you have a deep understanding of people and you are definatly a people person. Give it some thought, having no qualifications needed except the ones gained at the university of life. If you are not sure it is for you try volanteering.

Id love to do something like that Smeedle because I am pretty sick of having a job which pays a wage but leaves me feeling like I have done nothing worthwhile of note with my day. I applied to a homeless shelter in Glasgow but I think they found me too soft lol....

Dont give up, I had to keep trying when I decided to move from cleaning in the hostel to being a project worker the way I got around this was to be a relief worker, this gave me the experience and knowledge I needed when I next applied for a permanant post. If you have to then be a volanteer as this way they can see how good you are!!

Ah the need for money, wish I could just win the lottery and have the life that I dream of and not the one I have got!!

Need to focus again on the main site, feel I have neglected it but im just so busy and I have to be in a receptive mood to answer otherwise there is a certain harshness to my answers that certainly reflect my dark mood.
