breakup

Help, I am going through a terrible breakup. I was with my fiance for three years and I thought he was the greatest guy in the world. I came home from work about a month ago and he appeared as if he wanted to say something at first when I asked if something was on his mind he said no, when I asked later he said that he just wants to be roommates and that a girl he works with set him up with someone he is interested in getting to know. He swears he did not cheat. We do not talk but when we have he has said and done some really horrible things, why? I made allot of mistakes and we have had some financial problems for a while but I never thought this, and I never thought someone at his work would try and do that
