Hi sweetpie, I have heard of that band but only because my son listens to them. They just won their first Juno 'Fans' Music Award ever, didn't they? I'm into the 60-70's era classic rock bands like: Guess Who, Led Zepplin, The Doors and Janis Joplin, etc, etc. Great pioneers who led the way!

Hi Angelicc, Canada is a HUGE country! And so much to see. The best place to visit is Banff, Alberta in the rocky mountains! My dream however, is to visit the British Isles. I'm a history buff, so touring around and seeing these historical places would be wonderful.

Hi everyone, hi there megz... 8] I'm was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada but moved one city down - just across the bridge to Richmond, and have been living here since 1981. Between then and now, I have had the opportunity to live in Hong Kong for one to two months at a time, every three to five years or so. I love this region. We're going to have the Winter Olympics 2010 here. 8] Richmond is known for... [drum roll] Seafood, and early settlers of Japanese fishermen and women, and sakara trees. We also have access to everything... Yup... 8]

Anyway, she is in Puerto Rico for a fneral. So I went out with our daugter. Well, to make a long story a little longer, they asked my girl if she wanted to be the queen and repesent the Latin mMerican Club this year in a festival we have that represents all the different nationalities in the area. What a compliment !!

Club St. Lucia! I practically grew up in that place! Both my parents were managers there years ago when we first moved here, spent all my school holidays annoying the staff there... fun place. I live about 5 minutes from Club, in Rodney Bay (near all the nightlife). And THANK YOU! I am so sad, it is 7.30am on my birthday and I am here on DearCupid!

Prunella, it's funny you should say my wife must be a stunner. She is and it's not just me that thinks so. People are ALWAYS approaching her and asking her if she's model. Stangers !! Once in Key West, a woman asked me if she was a swimsuit model. Honestly, when she walks into a room, all heasds turn. Jennifer Lopez has nothing on her. I consider myself lucky. She's got a breat personality too. Once I did become jealous because guys always approach her. But I just take it as a compliment now.

Lived in Edmonton til I was 32 yrs.

Re-located to Calgary to be with my husband only to have the bugger walk out on us five months later.

Live in Calgary as my sons can be close to their Grandparents and my eldest loves this city as she has met her bestest friend ever.

I also stay as the BF lives and works here and I am absolutley in love with this most beautiful man.

Another 2 year old thread ~ covered in cobwebs, thought it would be interesting to revive it.

I'll start;

I was born and raised in North London (the posh part) after getting married, I lived in Hertfordshire. Divorced, back to North London, then back up to Hertfordshire. Got bored, lived in Cyprus for a year, missed home, back to Hertfordshire, now live right on the coast of South East Kent....and I love it...'til I get bored again.

Big Sis, you have been busy!

I was born in South America, my dad was posted there from the US at the time, lived in 3 countries there until back to the US for a few more years, then Germany & Iceland, then the US again, While I was in college, my parents moved to Egypt, then back to the US, then they were posted to Belgium, then back, I was at this point out on my own. Their last post was in Rome.

I lived in the Washington DC area during college and after for a total of 9 years there, until I moved to Atlanta, Georgia for 9 years there, then up to Pennsylvania where I now live, with a 2 year stint in London.

Global nomad is what they call people like me... but now I'm just a nice suburban woman with a large garden, a great husband and a dog!

;)

Tisha, you ain't done bad yourself....

....I moved 10 times in just as many years...'with' my twins on tow, after being suckered out of losing MY own home to a loser who gambled away MY property by forcing me to re-mortgage MY house, twice! What a mug I was!

A very long story...but to cut it short, I held two jobs for those 10 yrs, saving enough deposit for a maisonette just outside London. After 4 years made a great profit, sold it and bought a house 4 sizes bigger on the coast.

Hard work paid off in the end.

: ) xXx

So Tish, do you ever want to move again?

I was born in Ottawa - that's the National Capital of Canada - moved to Toronto - Mississauga and Oakville - then over to Holland for a decade with a year in London somewhere in the middle. Moved to outside of Chicago and have been here for 3 years now - love Mid-Westerners - Nice people! Daughter is in London and son is in Oakville. May be a few more moves to come. WEE. (read with enthusiastic sarcasm) Moving with kids is fun, especially in a foreign language! I sure learned how to drive there though - never had an accident until I moved to the Netherlands - very teeny tiny roads! Pass de Dutchie on de left hand side...

Utrecht, The Netherlands.

Lived all over the Holland but also lived in Japan and the UK when I was younger. London and Kyoto respectivly. Kinda miss both places allthough england has changed a lot since I lived there 15 years ago. Not sure about Japan, nice place but the flight kills you for a vacation.

Live in Durham City, beautiful place, have a small terrace house for me and my 16 year old son. I love my home! Always lived in this area. Parents live in the next street which comes in handy. Work as a PA to a Managing Director for a large company, crap money but the job is great, have loads of time to myself. Always lived in and around Durham but have travelled the world in the past with my son. Have relatives in US, going to visit them all one day when i save up enough.x

I was born in The Whittington Hosp (St Mary's) in Holloway. My parents had a house off Seven Sisters Road, the Finsbury Park end.

They moved to Winchmore Hill when I was 6 months old.

Last time I drove through Green Lanes in Haringey I made sure all my doors were locked and shot thru there like a bat out of hell...it's horrible now...well scary!!

I don't blame you for wanting to move...you obviously value your life.

xXx

I was born in Leicester, England, which is where it is said the English language originated. With invasions of Romans, Saxons, Normans and Vikings, Leicester was just about the centre of the 'melting pot' of those and indigenous languages.

I've also lived in Kilmarnock Scotland, Plymouth Devon, Helston Hayle Gwithian and currently live near Camborne Cornwall.

I'm from London, not passing through, but born and bred, and ready to die here. I live up the road from hyde park, near to St Johns wood, and within eye sight of Paddington Station.

It's a mixture of the very rich, the very famous, the poor, the criminal and the insane. I don't need to travel the world, cause it seems the whole world comes to live on my street. You name a language and I'm sure I can find somebody to translate. It was great durring the July bombings. I didn't need to go out or watch TV, I could watch the police rushing around right from my window. I think most of the terrorist are living in my neighbourhood, but at least I know where they are.
